CEQA Workshop in Monterey April 5, 2008

Dear Friends,

LandWatch Monterey County will be co-sponsoring a California Environmental Quality Act workshop (CEQA) along with several other community and environmental organizations. We are encouraging all of our members to attend this workshop to learn about new CEQA requirements to address climate change. This is a wonderful opportunity to network with others and take home the new Community Guide to CEQA recently produced by the Planning and Conservation League. Please register right away, as the workshop will fill up quickly and it will be advertised in the newspapers. Details on how to register on line are below. You will also find a map for the workshop and details on time and lunch. See you all at the workshop.

Workshop Information

April 5, 2008 PCLF will be in town to show you how to participate in the environmental review process. There is still time and room to register, but hurry, our workshops fill quickly! This workshop is just under a month away. You can register here.

To help local communities effectively participate in the environmental review process the Planning and Conservation League Foundation developed the Community Guide to CEQA. The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requires that the environmental impacts of proposed development projects be rigorously evaluated, and that feasible mitigation measures or alternatives be adopted prior to project approval.

We are excited to debut our thoroughly updated Community Guide to CEQA and hope you find the Workshop useful and productive. We will also be offering additional Guides for sale the day of the event and will accept payments by credit card, cash or check.

The program begins at 9:00 AM promptly at the Monterey College of Law in Seaside. Follow this link to see directions and a map to the location.

Please call us at (714) 779-7561, or email Melanie Schlotterbeck (mschlotterbeck@pcl.org) if you have any questions about the event. You'll also find more information on our website.

We're looking forward to seeing you in Seaside!

Melanie Schlotterbeck
PCLF CEQA Workshop Coordinator
