LANDWATCH MONTEREY COUNTY
CELEBRATES ITS 10TH YEAR

A festive crowd of over 250 supporters filled the Grand Ballroom at the Monterey Hyatt Regency on November 9th to celebrate the tenth anniversary of LandWatch. The event was a way for LandWatch members and friends to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of the organization over the years. Table captains from all over Monterey County filled 28 tables with guests and friends, many of them current supporters of LandWatch and many of them new to LandWatch.

Executive Director, Chris Fitz, spoke to the crowd and gave a history of LandWatch and details of the current land use challenges that we are facing. Several elected officials were in attendance including Pacific Grove Mayor, Dan Cort and Monterey County Supervisor Dave Potter.

The event shows the dedication that people have to protecting Monterey County and to Landwatch -- and they were willing to back up that support with their donations. “I really wish that we could have invited every single supporter to the event” said Associate Director, Paula Lotz.

At the end of the event, all guests were given specially designed note cards for the 10th anniversary with meaningful quotes and memorable scenes from all over Monterey County to take home and send to their friends.

If you would like to also celebrate LandWatch and ensure that we will be around to face the challenges of the next 10 years, please consider a tax deductible contribution. You can contribute to LandWatch on our website at:
