September 6th Is the Date of the Long Awaited Trial

LandWatch filed litigation against the County of Monterey and the developer of the proposed Ferrini Ranch project in January 2015. The project proposes 212 residential lots and a commercial parcel adjacent to State Route 68 and River Road.

Our case cited land use and California Environmental Quality Act violations specifically related to insufficient water supply, traffic and biological impacts. Our opening brief outlined deficiencies in the Environmental Impact Report, including improper evaluation of cumulative impacts and mitigation measures; inadequate description of the physical setting and project description; and violations of the County's General Plan.

Monterey Superior Court Judge Thomas Wills will hear the case on Tuesday, September 6 at 9 AM. The location of the hearing is Monterey County Courthouse (Department 14 - 2nd floor) located at 1200 Aguajito Road, Monterey.

This hearing is open to the public if you'd like to attend. Thank you for your continued support of our work to ensure good public policy, especially your support of our work on the Ferrini Ranch proposal.

The project area is rich in natural resources and includes stunning views.
