LandWatch Supports In-fill Development Project in King City

June 27, 2011

Robert Cullen, Mayor
City Council of King City
212 So. Vanderhurst Ave.
King City CA. 93930

SUBJECT: Resolution to adopt a MND and the Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program for the C-N Zone District and the San Antonio Apartment Project

Dear Mayor Cullen and Members of the City Council:

LandWatch Monterey County staff had the opportunity to visit the project site and review the mitigated negative declaration for the San Antonio Apartments project that would provide 51 multi-family rental units for seniors and low-income residents. Based on our support for in-fill development and provision of affordable housing for low-income residents, the LandWatch Board voted on June 22, 2011 to support the project.

LandWatch commends the City of King for addressing the needs of the community while supporting in-fill urban development that limits impacts on the environment and public services while helping to preserve agricultural land. We look forward to offering future support for projects similar to the San Antonio Apartment Project in the City of King.

Sincerely,

Amy L. White
Executive Director
